A Timeless Connecticut Estate Reimagined

This extensive gut renovation transformed an existing Connecticut estate into a timeless family home designed to feel as though it had evolved over generations. Working alongside architect Hannah Robertson, Tallman Segerson Builders and Elise Landscape & Nursery, the property was reimagined from the ground up—from the main residence and pool house to the expansive surrounding grounds.

The homeowners gravitated toward classic, traditional interiors but weren't afraid of color, pattern or unexpected details. Our goal was to create a home that felt elegant and refined without feeling overly formal or newly decorated.

Throughout the house, we layered custom furnishings with antiques, original art, rich textiles and one-of-a-kind pieces. Rather than following a single formula from room to room, each space developed its own personality while remaining connected to the architecture and overall character of the home.

Classic Design, Layered with Personality

Color and pattern became an important part of the story. Blues, warm neutrals, botanical motifs and richly patterned textiles bring depth to the interiors while complementing the home's traditional architectural details.

Custom pieces allowed us to create the right scale and proportion for the home's generous rooms, while antiques and collected objects introduced the patina and individuality that can be difficult to achieve in a newly renovated space.

The result is sophisticated but comfortable—a home designed for family life, entertaining and everyday living that feels established rather than newly completed.

An Estate Designed to Endure

Every element of the property was considered as part of the larger vision. The architecture, interiors and landscape work together to create a cohesive experience, with rooms intentionally connected to views of the surrounding property and outdoor spaces. The published project feature similarly notes the home's strong connection to the outdoors and the team's desire to keep the interiors classic and complementary to the architecture.

The finished home feels timeless, personal and distinctly New England—a thoughtful balance of traditional design, beautiful craftsmanship and pieces intended to be enjoyed for years to come.
